My focus

Built from your CV and experience. This is your compass — get it clear once, and every application and approach gets sharper.

💡 Build this straight from your CV

  • Your target role(s): look at your last 2–3 job titles and where you want to go next.
  • Your strengths: the skills and themes that repeat across your experience.
  • Your proof: the achievements you're proudest of — the ones with a number attached.
Short on time, or want it done properly? Our Full Recruitment Strategy completes this section — and researches your target companies and recruiters — personalised to your CV.

Application tracker

Log every role you apply for. Keeping it in one place means you always know what to chase and when.

Target companies & clients

Don't wait for the perfect advert. Build a list of places worth approaching directly — then work it.

💡 Where to find companies worth approaching

  • Competitors of your current or past employers — they value your exact experience.
  • Companies advertising roles like yours right now (even if you apply direct too).
  • Employers within your commute — search "[your role] [your town]" on LinkedIn and job boards.
  • Businesses you've dealt with — past clients, suppliers and partners already know your work.
  • The dream list: places you'd genuinely love to work. Approach them speculatively.

Recruiters & network

A good recruiter in your field hears about roles before they're advertised. Line a few up and stay on their radar.

💡 How to find the right recruiters

  • Search LinkedIn for "[your sector] recruiter [your city]" — note who keeps appearing.
  • List the big agencies in your field plus one or two independents who specialise in it.
  • Ask your network who they've actually rated — a warm intro beats a cold call.
  • Add contacts from your own network here too: ex-colleagues, managers, people who owe you a coffee.

Weekly plan & log

Job hunting works when it's a routine, not a panic. Pick a rhythm and log what you actually did each week.

💡 A simple weekly rhythm

  • Apply to your target number of well-matched roles — quality over spray-and-pray.
  • Send a few networking or recruiter messages (your target above).
  • Follow up anything that's gone quiet for 7+ days from your tracker.
  • Spend 30 minutes improving one thing — a CV section, your LinkedIn, a cover letter.
